Left/right bars appear although exact same frame & format

Hi there,
my upright android video specs are
9:16 ratio, 640 x 1.280 px, 44,73 / sec. frames

Open this file in Shotcut and even custom >> add exactly this format, it ends up in
left and right black bars.
Why is that?
I think it should fit seamlessly without any bars whatsoever.

It either seems, selected format in Shotcut is too big for the video, or imported video is smaller than my custom video format.
Anyhow it looks bad and additional editing is necessary before exporting.

Why is that and what can I do??

640 x 1,280 does not have an aspect ratio of 9:16

Just type in the resolution for the aspect ratio.
