Keyframes jumping forward on audio clip when splitting after transitions

Hi, issue is with keyframes, specifically the gain filter on an audio track in this case, and how they behave when splits are made to the audio clip after there has been an overlapping crossfade transition with an earlier audio clip.

I’ve observed that when the audio clip is split anywhere after a crossfade transition, any keyframe points on that clip jump forward by the amount of the transition.

In my case, the overlapping crossfade transition is 2.4 sec. So when I make any splits to the audio clip afterwards, the keyframes all jump forward 2.4 sec.

I first noticed this when making ripple-all cuts to some video clips, and noticed my gain keyframes were off.

Through chat-gpt led experiments, I realized the shift was relative to the transition length.

And even removing that transition now bumps all the keyframes forward by that amount.

Good luck, shotcutters!

Shotcut Version 26.6.25

new discovery… the “jumping keyframe on the gain filter” issue seems to occur when the audio clip containing the keyframes has been dragged/extended to the left, making a transition with the previous clip. If instead the clip on the left is dragged to the right, over the keyframe clip to make the transition, then any splits on the keyframe clip do not cause the keyframes to jump.

This is fixed for the next version 26.9

Thank you for the reply. Do you know if issues with the new “elements” feature are also being addressed in the next version? I had to delete v26.8 which was causing shotcut to freeze every time I tried closing it. Thanks!
