Keyframes in multiple filters

Shotcut v24.11.17

I have applied two filters: Blur (Gaussian) and Crop (Rectange), both have ‘Use keyframes for this parameter’ enabled.

Initially I have modified Crop filter by repositioning it or changing the shape, every modification creates a keyframe - as expected.

I also don’t want to have the constant Blur effect across the entire clip. Switched to the Blur filter and change the Amount from necessary value (ON) to 0 (OFF) when necessary. Unfortunately modifying the Blur filter does not create the keyframes.

What do I do wrong?

It seems to work for me. Maybe you can share a screenshot to demonstrate the problem.

Thank you for response @brian.

I have two filters: Blur and Crop. Both have ‘Use Keyframes for this parameter’ turned ON.

Changing size or position of Crop creates new keyframe (as expected).

At the beginning of video amount of blur is 20%. At 5 seconds I change Amount to 5%. However changing Amount of Blur does not create keyframes.

So when I have Blur Amount 20% at the start and then change it to 0% after 5 seconds, blur just gradually fades from 20% to 0%.

I want to have Blur at 20% from the beginning to 5 seconds, next turn it completely off (Amount 0%). At 10 seconds I want Blur at 30% till the end of the video.

I believe the problem is that there are no keyframes registered on the Blur filter - I can have a constant Amount across the entire timeline or Amount can gradually change.

If you want the values to change instantly, instead of gradually, you need to change the keyframes from “linear” to “hold”.

Here is a demonstration:

Here is some documentation that might be helpful:

Firstly I want to have keyframes for both filters - is it possible at all?

Yes. Of course. I can’t figure out why that would not work for you. Does this demonstration help at all?

Maybe the problem is they size of the Keyframes panel and track height makes it difficult to visualize the keyframes, or you need to scroll the UI vertically to see them, or the vertical scroll bar is not appearing.

It was the panel height issue indeed, thank you.
