Is using Cinebench benchmarks useful when looking to buy a processor?

I am building a new PC. I use Ubuntu as an OS and Shotcut as my video editor. When looking at processor benchmarks I see Cinebench scores and am wondering if that is a useful metric for gauging the processors performance when rendering with Shotcut? Should I be looking at a different processor benchmark when trying to evaluate a processors performance with Shotcut?

This I cannot answer but I guess yes.
It is not only the CPU speed what counts, also the RAM speed really matters.
Use a lot of DDR4 RAM and equip the Motherboard with all four DDR4 RAM pieces for the full bandwidth.
Also for the GPU it is sad to know that the memory transfer between GPU and CPU consumes the most time of the GPU load.
