There is no sparks effect built in Shotcut.
But you can create it yourself pretty easily. You just need to find footage of sparks that fits your needs (that may be the tough part). Choose a clip where the sparks are on a dark background.
In the example below, I used a free clip found on the Pixabay website:

  • In the timeline, create an empty track and drag the sparks clip to it.
  • Apply a Blend Mode filter, and set it to Screen
