I have a video clip taken in a room, and I would like to remove the reverberations of the sound. Is there a simple solution to fix that or would I need some professional tool for it?
Thanks in advance

Shotcut has basic audio filters, but it doesn’t have a dedicated “de-reverb” feature like some professional audio tools do. Here’s what you can try:
Use the Audio Filters in Shotcut
Open your clip in Shotcut.
Go to the Filters tab → click + → choose Audio Filters.
Useful filters for reducing bad room sound:
Equalizer: Cut frequencies that amplify the room’s echo (often low-mid frequencies around 200–500 Hz).
Compressor: Can reduce dynamic range and make reverb less noticeable.
Limiter/Normalize: Helps even out loud and quiet sections.
Noise Gate: Cuts off quiet reverb tails between speech.
This won’t completely remove reverb but can improve clarity for dialogue or acoustic instruments.
Thanks for the settings. They can really create a better sound.
Next time I will just pay more attention to the sound before I record a clip.
