Is there a quick way to add a title card / screen to a video?

E. g., I want to add a title card saying “Gyro Movie Studios presents:” before a video clip.

Or a card saying “Brought to you by Gyro Movie Studios” at the end of a clip.

I use Inkscape to design, the export a 1280x720 png, add the png to the timeline.

I think there is a way to add text in shotcut, but I have never used it.

Related question – What happened to the plain old Text filter? I only see 3d Text (HTML) now.
