Is the Xvid codec built in for exporting to mp4 format?

I’d like to have it as an option other than mpg, since until a few years ago, it was an alternative to the h264 standard because I had a low-resource computer. Later, I discovered the importance of bitrate for quality, which should currently range between 9-12 Mbps.

There are formats like WebM that emerged, which could be dragged into the browser and played. I think it’s functional, but I’m not sure it’s the best option since it was never adopted anyway. As the saying goes: better an old acquaintance
than a new one to get to know.
Thanks!

Xvid is one implementation of the crappy MPEG-4 part 2 video codec. Shotcut does not include Xvid. Shotcut includes FFmpeg’s “mpeg4” codec and “msmpeg4”, which is closer. I will never include Xvid. Your request is declined.

I think I was confused, because the left panel offers me very useful default profiles.
I guess it’s behaves lightly, which is ultimately what I’m looking for. “holy remedy”, thanks!
