Is Subtitle Whisper only works for English?

Hello,

I tried to add subtitle with the new Whisper feature. However when I select “Cantonese”, it still generate strange English subtitle.

What is the language of the audio/speech? That is what you are choosing, not necessarily the output language.

The language of the video is Chinese Cantonese. I need Chinese subtitle. Therefore I select “Cantonese” in the Language field.
However the subtitles are all in English. Please see attached screenshots.

I also tried to select “Chinese” in the Language field. The situation is the same.

Hello everyone, I tried the voice recognition feature, but the resulting mistakes are too numerous to be useful. So I would like to download this “better brain model” mentioned in the documentaire. But where is it to be found and how is it added? Thanks!

@Alex_Wu I tested it “well”, for the complexity of the dialog🇪🇸; perhaps the incredible thing was a spelling horror, but for the small file size and assuming that it gives priority to the English language, it works very fast and is easy to use.
The file could be exported and some words could be corrected, but I am quite satisfied.
Now, I don’t know if simply replacing the default file in the folder(whisper_models) will make it work without problems.
I’m not interested in the feature at the moment, but a lot of deaf people will appreciate the inclusion.
