Is it possible to Chroma Key an image sequence?

I tried adding a chroma key to an image sequence, but it doesn’t seem to work. Am I missing something?

I don’t see a video track below the sequence of images.
To see how this works, try creating a video track underneath your image sequence track, and include a background (can be a solid colour). Open another - Colour.
Or you can place a background image of your choice.

Yes, the thing you are missing is the track below the image sequence track.

Shotcut doesn’t support to make an alpha if you do not have a track with an image or video below the chroma keyed video or image track.

It is totally possible to chroma key an image sequence, I even work with image sequencing after I render an animation in blender, it exports into a png format so I do use shotcut to remove the green screen and add more backgrounds. It works perfectly well, but if you do not have a track below with image or video then it will not work.
