Is Curved Text Possible in Shotcut?

Continuing the discussion from How to create curved text?:

Is there a way to create curved text in Shotcut, or is that feature still under development? Alternatively, can this be achieved using Glaxnimate?

You can experiment with these filters:

360: Equirectangular Stereographic
360: Transform

Glaxnimate can make text follow another shape.

  1. Draw the curved shape.
  2. Add the text object
  3. Select both
  4. In the Text menu choose Put On Path
  5. Now you can delete the curved shape object.

Unfortunately, I am having a problem with the text spacing:

Can someone figure that out?

Thanks saw it:fire::100:

I didn’t figure out how to make it work on a path made with the Bezier tool, but the text spacing is correct when using an ellipse path.

  • Draw a circle with the Ellipse tool
  • Select the circle with the Edit toll
  • Go to Path > Object to Path (it allows to edit the first node)
  • Select the Select tool
  • Select the text and the circle
  • Go to Text > Put on Path

From now on we can choose where the text will be positioned on the circle by selecting a different first node and by editing the text offset.
