Iphone video becomes greyish when imported in Shotcut

Hi everyone, I have a weird problem I wasn’t able to find a solution for.

There is a video I am working on which is supposed to be a combination from different sources:
Iphone 14 Pro vids together with a DJI Mavic 3 video.

Now the problem is, that while the DJI video is displayed without any problems,
the Iphone videos turn greyish in color as soon as I drag and drop them to the list.

See here:

The left screenshot is the one from shotcut, the right one from the normal windows video player.
There are no filters involved. Even when I try to work with the color scheme, saturation it does not help at all, it is for instance as if all the blue from the sky and the warm green from the grass is like vanished.

I would appreciate your help.

Your iphone video seems to be using HDR, use the convert dialog in Shotcut’s Properties panel to convert it to normal range (check the "Convert to BT709 colorspace option).

It worked indeed! Thank you very much for your help.

Its of course a bit of a hassle to always have to convert the clips, but the result is exactly what I hoped for.

Thanks again!

Glad it worked. You could try to change your iphone camera settings to not film HDR if you plan to edit them in the future again.
