Inserting slides in seperate track over video - problems

When I insert approximately square Ppt slides over a video track, the sides of the slide do not go black - instead you can see the video around the sides. How do I get the slide to block out all of the video whilst it is showing (but keeping the audio track playing)?

Hi @anward

You can apply a Crop: Rectangle filter to your slide clip.
Since the padding color of the crop filter is set to black by default, everything outside the image will be black.

If you have multiple slides on the same track, you can apply the Crop: Rectangle to the track head instead of on each individual clip.

Thanks so much. Could I please ask you do a small breakdown showing/explaining where to click to find the ‘crop: rectangle’ command(s). (I’m quite new to Shotcut)

Thanks again,

Andy W

Just found the example - thanks very much!!!

You’re welcome @anward

You can edit to remove whatever is under the slide deck.

Can Shotcut use Power Point files?
