I'd rather use Shotcut!

I started on Premier Pro and used that for years, but I gave up on that after one “update” caused the play button to stop working randomly, so I would have to close the program, clear the cache, and re-open. Also, my wife used Illustrator and always complained how the trace tool never worked like it did in the Adobe tutorials. So, we migrated away from Adobe and started trying alternatives and thinking about Linux, especially after Windows 10 was at the end of life. I tried Resolve, but it was a little too involved, and seemed like it needed a GPU the size of a building to work right. Anyway, I stumbled upon Shotcut and what a breath of fresh air it has been. The keyframing and easy transitions beat other editors hands down, and now that the audio volume control is right on the track, I’m at home right here. Within the last week, a company named Art Craft vibe coded the entire Adobe suite in Rust, and released it to the public for free and completely open source. I’m completely on Linux as of two weeks ago, so was excited to see that they had the suite available on Linux, and even better that it was appimage. I downloaded the entire suite and tried a few of them. Lightroom behaved normally and my wife said that Illustrator worked the same on her Linux PC, although she only tried it for a few seconds and hasn’t had time to try the trace tool. So yeah, I tried the Premier clone, and it worked better than when I left, but… It made me remember all the things I didn’t like about it, and also reminded me of all the things I love about Shotcut. For example: The support… I was having trouble with the newest version on Ubuntu, and it was Ubuntu’s fault, but the Shotcut dude quickly came up with a fix and released it within a few days. How is this even free? My mind is blown! Even more so after getting to use the newest release on a project and seeing how lightning fast it is. The aesthetic is nice to look at and again, the volume control right on the tracks is the best thing ever. Straight up, after using most of the options out there, I’ve come to realize.. I’d rather use Shotcut.

Thank you!
