I can't find the prerender function

Usually a video editing program has a prerender functionality, to render the timeline, or parts of it to temporary files. This ensures smooth preview, also in higher quality and when making cpu-heavy edits.

Temporary prerendered files are obsolete (temp file can be deleted) once the part of the timeline has changed. Usually they are a sequence of shorter files, rather than one big temporary file, so only the changed parts need to be prerendered again.

But I can’t find anything similar in Shotcut.

Is it there under a different name, or has this to be implemented yet?

A long time ago I decided to share what I was working on instead of waiting 30 years to clone every feature of every other video editor in existence. There are Features and Road Map pages on the web site.
