How do you use HMTL in text. Then you use the downward arrow it then ask you to bring down contents from a file .What File!
There is a tutorial series by @jonray which explains how to use it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhX5p_umORM).
Essentially you use web technologies (HTML & CSS) to expand the options of Shotcut. It is now called Text: HTML but was called Overlay HTML, so searching the forum with this term will lead to more results.
But beware, it is an advanced feature so you should be comfortable with using Shotcut before trying this out.
It is not so advanced if you use one of the templates and the visual editor. Then, you just need to understand that the file in question is a HTML file, of course. The template feature creates the file for you, or you can open your own, existing file. If you are not using a project folder (using the New Project feature in Shotcut), and you choose a template, you need to specify a folder where the template will create the file. Otherwise, with a project folder defined, it will automatically create the files for you. Try it:
- create a project using New Project
- open a clip
- add the Text: HTML filter
- choose a template
- the HTML editor window opens
- change or enter some text
- close and save
