Apparently TikTok has specific requirements for video parameters. When I try to upload video created in Shotcut from individual png files with default parameters (I am very new to Shotcut) upload is failing with the error message “TikTok: The bitrate should be at least 516.00 Kbps”. I tried various adjustments suggestions I found on the web
(1) Export File > Advanced > Codec > Rate control > Average Bitrate
(2) … Bitrate 768kbps
etc.
but after all this I am still getting the same error from TikTok.
Any suggestions? guidance?
As you’ve discovered, this odd restriction on TikTok’s part will require some hacky encoding settings to make a slideshow consume more bitrate than it actually needs. I tried constant bitrate at 5M and it was still under the threshold. We will likely have to switch to an all-intra (GOP 1) encoding to inflate the bitrate.
Is it safe to assume your videos/slideshows will always be under three minutes? I can recommend some settings that are fine for shorter videos, but would burn space like crazy for long videos.
