How to fade in 2 stopwatches?

Hello dear community :slightly_smiling_face:

I am counting time with 2 “Timer” filters and here’s how my video looks like:

I want to make these timers appear when they start (bonus: with a smooth fade in) instead of showing 0.00, but I can’t think of a way to do that

With what I tried so far the first timer disappears when the second appears.

Could someone please help me? It seemed like a simple task

What I’ve tried so far:

I thought of having multiple video tracks to do what I want but even with those I am stuck, the first timer disappears when the second one appears.

I don’t have the right methodology lol

Use 3 tracks:

  • V1 - Original video
  • V2 - Transparent clip with the 1st Timer filter and FadeIn filter with “Adjust Opacity” set.
  • V3 - Transparent clip with the 2nd Timer filter and FadeIn filter with “Adjust Opacity” set.

Hello @Elusien , thank you very much!

(sorry for the delay, I had to face a major bug with Shotcut)

Appreciate it thanks, I wish you a nice day.

No problem. I’m glad that your problem is sorted.

Additional information: After some random amount of seconds, both timers stuttered aggressively. I tried to tweak different settings but at most it was only delaying the issue.

I was going to create a new bug topic but I found similar cases where Mr. Shotcut advised to un-check Parallel processing. This did the trick and now my video file is crystal clear :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll remember to not do Parallel processing with timers lol.

Thank you for sharing that information. It might come in useful for others.
