How To Edit An Added Audio Track?

I have added an audio track to my project - it is made in Audacity and acts as a commentary on the video - and I want to cut off a bit from the front but every time I try to do it I cut off a bit of the video.

I don’t seem to be able to find how to edit only the one track, the audio track in this case…

You might have Ripple all tracks on. Disable it. Ctrl+Alt+R or click image

This option is only in the Timeline menu in versions of Shotcut before 19.06.
