How to crop 4K source to HD output?

Dear Forum,

I do apologise if this came up early in the Forum.
I would like to crop 4K video source video files and export cropped selection to a HD video.
Basically, I intend to crop 4K video onto HD without zooming and losing video quality and resolution.

That isn’t possible as far as I know.

If I understand your goal, your output HD image will only be showing 1/4th of the original image because you are cropping out 1/2 the width and 1/2 the height.

The best way to do this without any scaling is to use the “Crop Source” video filter.

Thank you for your reply.
Initially, I was a bit lost; crop: source wasn’t visible until I dragged the source video (UHD 2160p Project) to the timeline… I played a bit with crop:soirce filter and exported the video as HD (1080p). All good now.
