How do add an image and not loose the audio with the video

I would like to insert and image over my video without loosing the audio of the video. All the inserts I’m trying cut out the existing audio. I’m giving a lecture and want to insert pictures and talk about them.
Any help in how to do that would be most appreciated.

You can right click on a video and select “Detatch audio”. The audio will be moved into an audio track, so cuts of the video track will not affect the audio.
