How capture video input?

Is it possible to capture video input using shotcut - if so how. My widget plays the video in shotcut OK, but I can’t find a way to capture it. Sorry - complete beginner.

I’ll go out on a limb and say “no” on this. OBS Studio is best for video capture and recording. What’s your input source? A webcam? The computer screen?

Thanks. The input is from Hi8 video camera via a conversion widget. It shows OK on the shotcut screen

  1. File > Open Other > Audio/Video
  2. Export > Capture File…
