How can I make a stereo audio track only play out of one channel (left or right)?
Filters > Audio > Balance
i did that but nothing changed? i can still hear the audio from both right and left. do i need to apply it or something? . I am new to the program so im still checking it like a noob
The usual reason is not understanding the basics that selection matters, and maybe you selected the wrong thing when adding the filter. See the top of the filter in the screenshot below. It says “Track 1: V1” meaning the filter is affecting everything on the track. The track header has a red outline meaning it is selected and that is what will be affected.
There is also another way:
- add a Gain/Volume filter
- Click L or R to select which channel you want to silence
- Reduce the Level completely
