How can I add an audio track to a video track

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to add an audio track to my video.
I can open the audio file, but it doesn’t seem to add to the audio track I created in the project.

Additionally, I want the audio to loop throughout the video.
Can anyone help me figure out what I’m doing wrong or provide guidance on how to achieve this?

Hi @Peteer

After you’ve opened the audio file in Shotcut, you need to move it yourself to the track in the timeline.

Either drag it from the Source panel,
or
select the audio track and press the Append button.

There is no automatic loop option for clips.
You need to copy the clip and paste it as many times as you need on the track.

  • Move the audio clip to the audio track
  • Select the clip
  • Press the Copy button
  • Press the Append button to paste a copy next to the previous one.
