Verzeihung, mein Englisch reicht nicht für technische Probleme.
Betr. Hardware-Encoder.

Das Equipment:
Notebook Medion P6640; 8 GB RAM; Intel HD Graphics 4000
Ubuntu 22.04 (mit Win 8.1 im DualBoot)
Shotcut 23.07 Installation Snap
(Shotcut-Linux-X86-64-230729.txz ebenfalls getestet)

Das Problem:
Der Hardware-Encoder ist nur bedingt verwendbar. In den meisten Fällen
wird “Nicht gefunden” angezeigt. Nur selten erscheint “h264vaapi gefunden”.
Das geschieht dann allerdings mehrfach hintereinander.
Die .txz-Version reagiert ebenso. Ein Schema ist nicht erkennbar.
Auch Installation von qt6-Wayland war erfolglos.
Ist es hilfreich, den qmlcache öfter zu löschen ??

Gibt es eine Lösung ? Herzlichen Dank

The capabilities of the intel hardware codec in Linux are directly affected by the mesa video driver. You need to find a good version of mesa-va-drivers. Successful does not mean the freshest, experiments with versions are needed.
I strongly recommend that you back up your system, as experimenting with the video driver can sometimes result in the X server crashing.

Thanks for your reply.
I found another solution: 1. clean the System-Cache
2. Defragmentation, 3. Reboot.
After this procedure the Hardware-Acceleration is in good
condition again.
