I edited a video clip to remove applause sections. I did that by using markers at the start of the applause and then split at the play head when applause ended. After the split, I selected the applause sections from the marker to the head position and ripple deleted them. Afterwards I noticed that clicking to go back to the beginning of the clip only did so by going back to each of the created black lines where markers had been. What is the purpose of them remaining, and how do I remove all those vertical black lines? I can’t figure out what the right procedure should be. Maybe the way I chose to do the applause sections removals was itself not the right way to do it?
Hi @silvanet
This is normal. When you split a clip, you end up with 2 smaller clips. Same as when you cut a piece of paper in 2: You end up with 2 pieces of paper. And even if you join the 2 pieces together, there will still be a cut between them. That’s what those black vertical lines are: Intersection between two clips.
To move the Playhead to the start of the timeline, you can use the Home key on your keyboard.
