Hardware encoding into the AV1 under linux with radeon videocards

Does the ShotCut support hardware encoding into the AV1 format using AMD video cards such as RX7xxx under Linux? If not, will this happen in the future?

This hardware encoder is not integrated yet into the dialog and automatic codec switching because I do not have the hardware yet. I do not plan to work on it soon. You can try to make and contribute the code change.

The linked post is about Windows, but the Linux support will come initially through VA-API. Like the other post, it might already work in some builds if you look in Export > Codec > Codec instead of the dialog. The latest version includes FFmpeg 6.1 that added support for it (AV1 in VA-API). However, it might require a newer version of the VA libs than are included in our portable, AppImage, and Snap builds that are based on Ubuntu 20.04. Your best bet is through Flatpak or a distro-provided package.
