Hardware Encoders make the Bitrate low

I am on Windows 11

I am on version 24.09.13
specs:
RTX 3060 TI
32gb memory DDR4
Intel i7 12th gen

Whenever I export a video with hardware encoders enabled, it makes the bitrate crazy low. I use the auto detected hardware encoders, and this did not used to be a problem. I have to use my CPU, in order to get a good looking video. I have replicated this issue on my laptop, it’s the same, using hardware encoders makes the bitrate super low, even though i have the lossless preset.

Also, i know it’s not just the video that looks weird, it’s a real decrease in bitrate. A Lossless 4k 45 minute file exported without Hardware encoders is 45gb, while the same video exported with hardware encoders is 738mb

Shotcut keeps exporting highly compressed lossy X.264 videos

In order to do lossless with NVENC you need to add to add to Export > Other an additional line (not on the same line as anything else) vtune=lossless

I fixed this for the next version 25.01 so that you do not need to enter vtune=lossless into Export > Other. This option only applies to NVENC.
