H.264 default codec

I recently exported a video using H.264 Main Profile. The format says MP4. Under the Codec tab I selected “Default for format.” So my question is, what is the default codec for MP4 (H.264)?

Not sure I understand the question, but MP4 with H264 codec is the more widespread combo used.

Yes, H.264 is the default video codec for MP4 for the libraries being used (FFmpeg).
