Hi, so I’ve got this Whatsapp video with a freaky 640x352 resolution. And I’d like to make it 640x480 WITH THE BLACK BARS so that I can upload it to Youtube undamaged. (I’ve previously uploaded it as is and Youtube cut off the sides).
I don’t want to crop nor distort and am willing to take the bars.
How do I do that?
Thanks.
(I’m sure this has already been answered before but I couldn’t find it. Somebody ought to do a tutorial or FAQ answer on this one.)
PS: I’ve tried to save the 640x352 resolution as a 640x480 video with 4:3 aspect ratio. Shotcut then adds black bars to the top and bottom (good) and black bars to the sides (WHY?).
OK, I’ve created a Video Mode with the 640x480 resolution and the appropriate FPS matching the original.
I opens.
It opens fine: Just as I wanted, with black bars on top and bottom.
Then I clicks on Properties and it tells me it’s 640x352.
What is going on here?
This is the resolution of the video source, not the project. Look at the default resolution in Export.
