Hi, I’m new to the forum - but I’ve read through the FAQ & searched for various Render Issues & read all relevant posts. I’m still unable to resolve this issue. So now I’m taking the next step & posting my own question.
I am running Shotcut v.20.10.31 (the latest stable release as of this writing) on Windows 10 Home Edition. I am editing a simple music video: clips with a few video fade filters; an audio track & end credits (text rich filter on black BG with video fade filters - nothing fancy). The original video clips are MPEG-4 part 2 1080p 25fps yuv420p with Progrssive Scan & Broadcast Limited MPEG Colour Range. Audio is 16Bit 48kHz PCM WAV.
I am trying to render the project out using the Default Render settings (without changing anything - so 1080p 25fps MPEG4). The project seems to fully render in Shotcut but the final video file ends up being a few hundred kilobites large & unreadable by any video player - which tells me that the final file has not rendered at all, or properly.
I have successfully rendered out videos before in Shotcut - namely a short video project for my wife that I rendered using the WMV preset. I have tried rendering again to the WMV preset with this current project - however the only portion of the video that rendered properly was the end credits: the audio was missing & the video clips rendered to black.
Here is the Render Log when the job is completed:

As noted on the bottom of the log, the render "Completed successfully in 00:11:23. There are some errors at the beginning of the log, however. It looks like a ladspa codex/plugin load error? Not sure why ladspa would be required for this process…
I have tried a number of suggestions made in the FAQ & other posts to no avail. I can’t seem to get any render to work & am quite frustrated. The only option I have not tried is the “Convert To Friendly Editing Format” feature. Is this the only solution to my rendering problem? It seems rather strange that I need to convert all my video to a particular format in order for the video editing software to be able to render said video to a format of my choosing. Essentially I need to convert the video twice: once for Shotcut to work with the video & once more to render it to the final format desired/required. Am I missing something?
Any help/explanation would be greatly apprecitated.
See You In The Shadows…
