Force Shotcut to *re*create proxy?

Happy New Year to all! :partying_face::star_struck::tada::evergreen_tree:

I have a video project that I created a year or so ago with Shotcut. For some reason I didn’t use proxies, or maybe the proxies were deleted (a different subject, discussed in a recent post of mine). What can I do to force Shotcut to recreate proxies in a project? The playback is dreadful and makes it hard to edit.

Many thanks in advance :folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands:

If Proxy is enabled (Settings > Proxy > Check Use Proxy) I think Shotcut will automatically generate (new) proxies it there are none found.
I very rarely use proxies, but that seems logical.

You would have thought so (if you were knowledgeable about this subject, which I am not!).

But I have checked, “Use Proxy” is definitely checked:

..and there have been no new proxies created upon opening the file. And the playback is commensurately dreadful.

I use proxies all the time. If I didn’t Shotcut would be unusable.

And what if you turn it OFF then ON again ?
