Fit time-lapse video to existing audio track?

I make a lot of time-lapse videos where it doesn’t really matter if the video is 2x or 20x speed, but the length of the backing audio is pre-defined and fixed.

My general workflow is to drop the video and audio tracks, then manually set the video Speed on the Properties tab either after manually calculating the ratio of the raw times or just doing some guess-and-check until it’s “close enough”.

Is there any built-in function to quickly and easily set the speed of a video clip to whatever it needs to be to match the length of a separate audio clip?

AFAIK there is no such function.
The way you’re doing it is probably the best way to do it.
