Hi, I’ve been using Shotcut for my YouTube channel for the past 6 months and never had any issues with it. However, since installing the latest update the first 2 or 3 seconds of every video I export is just a grey screen (looks like a dropped key frame or something). I’m using the exact same export to mp4 settings I always have done. No changes on my system that I’m aware of and this coincided exactly with installing the new update so I’m guessing it’s that? I’ve tried disabling hardware encoding but that has not helped. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks.
What is your operating system?
Windows 10
What is your Shotcut version (see Help > About Shotcut)? Is it 32-bit?
21.10.31
Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps?
(Please be specific and use the names as seen in Shotcut, preferably English. Include a screenshot or screen recording if you can. Also, you can attach logs from either View > Application Log or right-click a job and choose View Log.)
Just drop the log file into the reply window.
You could also try zooming in all of the way on the timeline to see if you notice any gaps.
This example shows exactly a 2 frame gap.
I am not able to reproduce. It is not a general problem. I test exports using various codecs and hardware encoders on all builds during the release process. Maybe the problem is your player. Does it happen when you open the exported video in Shotcut to play it?
Thanks for your replies. I have done some more testing today and it would seem the grey only shows up when I play the file in VLC. It does not happen when the file is uploaded to YouTube. Not sure what is happening but it is not a big issue! Feel free to delete this post. Thanks again.
