Filters won't apply to free footage

I’m a shotcut newbie! I’m trying to add a couple of filters to some stock footage. I have already added filters to a video I recorded and a stock photo successfully. When I try to add some filters to the stock footage it will show the changes in the source window, but when I drag the video into the timeline the video plays back unaltered.

If you apply the filters to the video in the viewer and drag from the viewer to the timeline or use copy and paste to add the video to the timeline all the filters will show on the video.

If you drag a video from the playlist to the source viewer apply filters to it then drag that video from the playlist to the timeline filters will not show unless you update the playlist item either using the check icon or shift B.
