What is your operating system?
(If you are using Linux, you must state how you installed Shotcut as there are too many builds and packages. In general, we do not make the build installed by your distribution package manager unless it installs the Snap. The developers only build, test, run, and support the builds shown on our download page.)Windows 10
What is your Shotcut version (see Help > About Shotcut)?
24.06.26
Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps?
(Please be specific and use the names as seen in Shotcut, preferably English. Include a screenshot or screen recording if you can. Also, you can attach logs from either View > Application Log or right-click a job and choose View Log.)
I followed the exact same steps that are demonstrated from the 2:00 mark to the 4:30 mark in the video at the following link:
How to create a revealing text effect and other cool effects in Shotcut (youtube.com)
What OS are you using? Here’s a link to a folder on my Box account where I uploaded two files that I created with this feature. The one ending with “2” doesn’t work because I created it with version 24.06.26. The one ending with “3” does work because I created it with version 19.7.15, which is the same version that was used in the video I referenced above.

I used the version you reported.
I asked you which OS are you using, not which version of the software you’re using. The fade-out transition doesn’t do anything in my test file. Instead, the text abruptly disappears at the end of the transition. Did you watch the video I uploaded to my Box account? And did you download and open the Shotcut file I uploaded so that you can see whether or not the transition effect in that file works on your computer? If not, please do so and let me know the results. Thanks!
You have V1 hidden with the one you did for version 24.06.26
When you unhide the bottom track, you can see the effect.

Wow, that’s weird. Why does the fade in effect show without V1 being visible?
Thanks for the info. Unticking the checkbox made it work as I expected it to. I also got it to work in my original file that I was working on before I created the test file. Thanks for your help!
