I have worked on this project for about 50 hours now and now that I’m finally nearing the finish line the entire project can’t be exported anymore.

There are various reasons why exports fail, but the most common two are: 1) running out of memory and 2) having a filter that somehow got corrupted. For number 2) see here:

Your export failed for one or more reasons. There is always a reason why it failed. Below are the posts by others describing their faults and solutions. This tutorial is not a definite tutorial as you may have a unique situation not described in here. Time Code After failure to export it may display a time code, make a note of the time displayed and look on your timeline to see what’s there that could be causing the problem. For number 1) try rebooting and running the export before starting anything else. Keep an eye on the amount of memory being used. You don’t say what system you are running on, what your machine specifications are or what version of Shotcut you are running, so it is difficult to give any explicit advice.

If you are running out of memory you could export the video in chunks and combine these for a final export.
