I’ve recently created some simple video edits for a film night thing, and finished my projects, saving them during the process here and there. Now, however, I cannot open either their .mlt files or the .mp4s.
The .mp4s refuse to open in VLC or Windows Media Player, and WMP gives the error “Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.”
The more recent of the .mlt files still opens in Shotcut luckily, but the earlier one opens to a plain white screen with no indication that there’s any content whatsoever.
Spoke with a friend, and I didn’t delete any of the content used in the videos from my PC. Every source is still here, so that wouldn’t fuck anything.
Any ideas what has happened, and what might be done?
