Exported video doesn't show "Trails" filter

What is your operating system?
Microsoft Windows 10 Home

What is your Shotcut version (see Help > About Shotcut)? Is it 32-bit?
21.03.21 62-bit

Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps?
(Please be specific and use the names as seen in Shotcut, preferably English. Include a screenshot or screen recording if you can. Also, you can attach logs from either View > Application Log or right-click a job and choose View Log.)

The problem occurs specifically with the “Trails” filter as well as “Posterize.”
The video preview in Shotcut shows the filter working as expected, yet when I export, the filters aren’t there.

I have tried to Upgrade Shotcut to the latest version, clearing all export settings and working with default, as well as a multitude of other forum suggestions.

I even created a new project, added the video clip, and Trails filter, then exported. Still doesn’t show up.

Any suggestions? I can attach a log if necessary.

Thank you very much!

Both are working for me. Is GPU Effects enabled in the Settings menu?

Hm I don’t see that option in my settings…

That is good because it is experimental, hidden, and not supported. Just checking if that was a possible reason I cannot reproduce it. Create a short simple project with the filter, export, right-click the completed job, and choose Log and paste it here.

Hmm looks like a missing keyframe possibly?

This is normal for the first N frames you have set on the filter. It cannot look ahead to mix frames; it requires history. Are you looking at more than the first N frames?
If you suspect a problem with the video file you are using, you can try using Properties > Convert.
Are you using the filter in combination with other filters? I ask because it reports it is using rgba image format, which is not typical.

I will try converting the video file. Although, in my tests other filters (such as Wave) work with this same video file. Just Trails and Posterize do not show up in my exports.

Here are the filter configurations. I am using both Trails and Posterize, although the same error persists even if I only use one at a time. Capture2 Capture

:man_shrugging: Tried that combination with those values, and it worked for me including when using advanced export options like parallel processing and hardware encoder.

Hmm. Are you using default export options?

Yes, but also I tested multiple times including adding each of those two speed options that have a higher risk to introduce a problem.

Okay. I’m going to start from scratch and see if I can get it working. Thank you for the suggestions!

Unfortunately, uninstalling and reinstalling didn’t make any difference. How can I completely clear the cache for any Shotcut-related data? when I reinstalled, I noticed it saved my preferences. I want to start from a completely fresh install.
