Export seems to be slow!

Hi all
Does anyone else have this problem?
I recently watched a Shotcut tutorial on youtube;
When the guy exported his project, Shotcut seemed to be processing this 40 minute video fairly quickly. Shotcut takes an hour or more to render a similar length project on my computer.
Why might this be? Is it to do with the program settings, or is it my computer? I’m using a 5yr old Packard Bell easynote laptop running Win7 64-bit with 1.6GHz dual core & 6GB RAM.
How can I make Shotcut quicker?

While you only shared information of your computer, and left out details of your project I’ll just address the computer side.

https://shotcut.org/FAQ/#what-are-the-minimum-system-requirements
CPU: x86-64 Intel or AMD; at least one 2 GHz core for SD, 2 cores for HD, and 4 cores for 4K.
RAM: At least 4 GB for SD, 8 GB for HD, and 16 GB for 4K.

And every computer’s software environment is different. If you have anti-virus running, other programs running that will slow down your processing. Having just one internal HDD will slow things down. If you have an SSD installed that would speed things up.

Without knowing your project, I would say you may need a faster computer, something with a 4 core processor. Otherwise just wait for it to complete.

Just to drop this is I don’t know where your PC falls in on this list but this is some testing I’ve done myself

Cheers. I figured my laptop was peraps a little under-spec (being old), but did wonder if there was something i was missing in the program settings as well.

Cheers again - I’ll struggle on :slight_smile:
