Export part of the project only?

I am working on a video project from a laptop while travelling.

I need to export often to check the video clips are coordinated correctly with the background music.

It takes quite a long time each time, as my video is 4 minutes long.

Is there a way to only export lets say from 1:45 to 2:15 minutes of the whole video?

Alternatively, is there a way to export in a very low quality video/sound so that the export will be done quicker? I have tried the different file options in the list but they seem to take the same time to export, so I just use DEFAULT.
