Hi everyone,
I created a slideshow in Shotcut and added colored borders around each image. However, after exporting the video, I noticed two issues:
-
The edges of the borders seem to vibrate/shimmer (interlacing-like flicker).
-
The zoom in/out animations (scaling) are not smooth and appear jittery.
What could be causing this?
System: Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.1 Shotcut version: Flatpak 26.2.26
Filters used on the clips:
-
Size, Position & Rotate
-
Crop: Rectangle
-
Blur: Gaussian
-
Brightness
Any help or advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!
Did you create the border with 2 Crop: Rectangle filters?
If so try using the Outline filter instead.
Then export the project and check if the borders still vibrate/shimmer.
Note that using the Outline filter will probably result in longer export time.
Thanks, I tried the Outline filter.
Unfortunately, I still see that the image stutters when zooming in and out, the zooming in and out is not smooth. It’s a small lag, but it’s there.
And the rendering took three times as long as when using the Crop filters.
Thank you for addressing my problem!
Now it’s like this:
I see. And after actually try it myself, I get the same issue.
As another workaround, I thought I’d try an image with the outline added in Photoshop, but I get the same result
My project had a 30fps rate and exported with the Default export preset. Maybe this shimmer issue on the borders won’t occur at 60fps, or with a different export preset?
My previous attempts were at 30 fps for me too. Now I tried with the project set to 60 fps, but the situation is no better.
