I now want to export some video excerpts for the Instagram timeline. Instagram has the following information online:

So what I did was to make an empty project with a 1:1 aspect ratio and a 1080:1080 resolution. I then tried to open the main edit as a MLT-as-clip and expected it to be cropped. However the project always switches to 16:9, even if I edit the MLT XML manually back to 1:1 and 1080:1080.
