Bonjour.
Windows 11
Hello. Since the latest version of Shotcut, I’ve noticed that the video duration calculation becomes erratic after a certain amount of time.
46
Only with the latest version of shotcut.
My videos average between 46 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes.

Hmmm. Maybe related to this recent report which the developers have not reproduced.
Can you share a test file?
Hmm.

- Operating System: Windows
- Shotcut Version: 25.12.31 (although issue goes ba… ck further than this as older versions tried back to 250125)
**Describe the bug**
As per title, video export freezes video output at 36 minutes 25 seconds 440, audio continues but export video freezes on this time from that point on, export up to this point is ok.
As part of testing, tried to create an edit friendly file before exporting.
This only confirms the error as the edit friendly file presented is 36 minutes 25 seconds and 440 despite the mov file being over an hour long. (Despite ridiculous size of edit friendly file, there are no issues with storage space that would explain this and seems strange that this also effectively freezes at exactly same point)
Done this with multiple mov files same result.
The above was done with default settings and no edits or any other processing, simply open file and export.
Completed with multiple clean installs of shotcut (from official repository) - both with installer and portable versions
Same process and files used on shotcut version 19.06.15 which works fine, this seems to be the latest version that does cause me any issues.

The problems with inaccurate durations occur around the 10-11% completion point; before that, it’s fine, and after that, it’s nonsense.
If I run a test, the video will be very large, close to 1 GB or more.

Can you clarify what you mean by the “duration” time? Maybe you are talking about the export time remaining estimate in the Jobs panel? I notice that for long files, the export time estimate is not very accurate.

Yes, I’m referring to the estimated remaining export time displayed in the task panel.
I didn’t have this problem with version 25.10.
Is it the same as this?

Dell Latitude 5490 laptop Core i5-7300U @ 2.6 GHz. 8G RAM Win11Pro with latest updates.
I’m reluctant to class this as a bug as it’s more a degradation in the UI than a problem with the application, nevertheless, here it goes:
In the “Jobs” window, the progress bar of the current job will blank momentarily and then restore throughout the course of the job. As well, all finished j…
I have not yet seen the problem. I exported a 1 hour video, and watched the progress bar, and no problem with erratic progress bar or estimated time remaining.

In version 25.12, it’s systematic; it happens around 10 to 12%. I’ve never had this problem with other versions of Shotcut.

I believe I finally reproduced and fixed this for the 26.1 release later this week.
