You can achieve the following effect directly with SC.
Place your photo/video on V1
Add a V2 track above
Place a black color clip on V2 (above V1)
Apply the Mask: Simple shape filter to the V2 black clip.
Operation: Subtract
Shape: rectangle
Width: max.
Rotation: 90°.
Height: According to your taste
Progressivity: According to your taste

Añade una pista V2 arriba
Coloca un clip de color negro en la V2 (encima de la V1)
Aplique la máscara: filtro de forma simple al clip negro de la V2.
Operación: Restar
Forma: rectángulo
Ancho: máximo.
Rotación: 90°.
Altura: De acuerdo a tu gusto
Progresividad: De acuerdo a su gusto
