Editing filenames with left and right arrow keys

Hi there

Sorry, it’s me again… I did search for “arrow keys, left, right, filename, etc. Maybe I used some bad keywords, but I did not find a thread for that…

If I do export or safe a file with “save as” I usually like to use the left and right arrow key for rename the file. But if I try to use the arrows to navigate the cursor between the letters/characters the cursor does not move, but the Video/Timeline is skipping. So the arrows are related to the Player and not to the Window with the filename.

Hope it is understandable what I mean :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

It’s not a big thing or major issue, but I wonder, if I am the only one, who tries to navigate between the characters like this :see_no_evil_monkey:

Is it possible to change that in the settings or is it just like it is?

It works fine for me, I can’t reproduce your problem, I mean I “Save as” and straight with the ← or → I can move the cursor in the name field

Maybe it’s interfering with other opened software?

I don’t have this issue.
If I “Save As…” the current name of the file is selected in blue and pressing the left arrow makes the cursor appear and I can move it left or right with ← or →

I’m on Windows 10

Oh really?! That’s strange…

Version: 25.13, MacBook M4 pro with newest OS (but had this issue from the beginning).

I did test this. I closed all other apps. Do you work on Windows or Mac?
