Editing audio issue when loading

Using Shotcut on Windows 11 PC. Using the lastest version 25.12.31 but this has been happening for months, ever since the switch was made than when you add a video file is not creates two video tracks and one audio track. It is easily recreatable as it happens nearly 100% of the time.

When I hit Open file, select the files and it is added, so see the audio in the V1 output I have so do something like hit S to insert a splice of the waveforms to appear. Doing this fixes the issue, but it is incredibly annoying and not something I have had to do in years of using Shotcut before.

Unrelated but because I know people can reply, I also searched high and low for how to get the old behavior to be the default of just adding the one V1 track when I add a video file. I end up Ctrl-Alt-U and removing the two extra tracks all the time as I do not need them for my work.

I do not reproduce the problem you are having. Maybe it depends on exactly how you are adding the clip to the timeline. Maybe you only know a couple of ways but there are many, and I tried a few.

You can turn off the automatic track additions using Settings > Timeline > Automatically Add Tracks.

I go to Open File and pick the MP4. Once it opens in the Source window I drag it to the timeline.
