I have tried many times to edit an mp3 file and then export it as an mp3. But each time it fails to export. I have the latest version of Shotcut. mp4s are fine, and it will export the mp3 into an mp4, but then I have to convert it back with another tool into an audio file!

Use the provided preset instead of changing things in Advanced mode of Export.
