DSLR as a webcam not being detected in video input

I read here that webcams can be used as video source and I use my DSLR(canon EOS rebel T6) as a webcam with EOS webcam utility tool provided by canon. It works fine in skype and obs but it is not being recognized in shotcut as video input. I want to know if it’s even possible?

If it’s working in OBS worst case you could pull it in as an NDI device into shotcut(although i’m getting an application crash when I do that myself it should work in theory)

OBS 26 beta has a virtual camera feature to use with other applications (Windows only), although not sure how it all works.

In OBS’s notes:

Windows: Added Virtual Camera, allowing you to use the OBS output as a camera in other apps on your computer. Support for other operating systems will be added in future versions when they’re ready

In OBS I just pushed Start Virtual Camera and it worked.

That’s a lot less hoops than ndi, time to update obs

Where can I download this 26-Betaversion? - I can’t find it on the official Website.

I linked their GitHub in my post. https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/releases/tag/26.0.0-rc3

A link can also be found on their forum.
