I use to be able to drag clips over one another to create a fade in fade out transition by dragging in either direction. Now when I drag from left to right no transition is made. The only way I get the transition is to drag from right to left. Any thoughts on why this started happening?
You have ripple mode turned on 
This is a feature to let you push clips toward the right to open a gap in the timeline.

So I did. Thank you. Now to figure out the extra blank space below the timeline that changed with the new version (20.11.28)
